Denmark's most beautiful route

Denmark’s most beautiful stretch, also known as “Denmark’s most beautiful race.” The route goes from Enø to Bisserup and is 13 km each way, offering an experience with outstanding natural scenery and variety, whether you’re into running, mountain biking, or gravel cycling.

The route passes through some of South Zealand’s most picturesque landscapes, allowing participants to experience the best of the Danish countryside – from white sandy beaches and rolling seas to forest stretches and open fields.

The start is at Enø, the charming fishing village with its relaxed atmosphere and beautiful coastline. Here, you immediately smell the sea and hear the waves as you pass by small, colorful houses and the iconic Grasshopper Bridge out toward Smålandshavet. For mountain bikers and gravel cyclists, this first section is flat and fast, but it soon transitions to more technically varied terrain.

The route offers changing nature and challenges. One of the highlights is Kristiansholm Plantation, a lush forested area where the route winds through tall trees and along quiet trails. Here, mountain bikers and gravel riders experience both technical challenges and natural beauty as they navigate narrow forest trails and hilly terrain. The plantation’s shady paths also provide a welcome escape from the sun on warm days, and the varying terrain adds an extra layer of adventure.

If you want a slightly more hilly route, a detour to Menstrup Mountain, 43 meters above sea level, offers a bit of extra challenge and a really nice view.

The route ends in Bisserup, a cozy village known for its half-timbered houses.
